Atlas Rolling Entry Systems was founded in March of 1992 as a result of the closure of a U.S. rolling door manufacturing branch plant in Toronto. Atlas Rolling Entry Systems was originally founded as a wholesaler for the Canadian market, selling rolling service doors, thermal doors, fire doors, grills, countershutters, and replacement parts through a national dealer network. Ending its first year fiscal with sales approx $1M Atlas expanded by purchasing a new warehouse facility in Vaughan, Ontario.
Atlas Rolling Entry Systems is presently home in a free standing 30,000 square foot building in Woodbridge, Ontario. During the spring of 1993, four new products were added to the Atlas’s portfolio; these included polyurethane injected commercial and residential insulated sectional garage doors, heavy duty industrial multi-blade doors and parts, as well as a complete line of commercial and residential garage door openers. With sales growing at a rate of 60% per year, Atlas is now focusing part of its sales efforts on the international markets. Atlas is currently exporting into Russia, Czechoslovakia and Saudi Arabia. An aggressive distributor, Atlas plans expanding at the same rate in both domestic and foreign markets.
